Terms of Use of the website
Version 1.0 · In force since 24 September 2026.
This is a courtesy translation. The operative text is the Spanish version, available at terminos-de-uso.html. In case of discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who operates this website
www.corlaw.com.co is operated by JRO Florida Enterprises LLC, domiciled in Florida, United States (“JRO Corlaw” or “the firm”).
By browsing this website you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use it.
2. The content of this website is not legal advice
All content on this website — including the insights, the service descriptions and the assistant’s replies — is for general information only. It does not constitute legal, accounting or tax advice, it does not address the facts of any particular case, and it does not replace a professional opinion (in Colombian practice, a written concepto).
Information may cease to be current. What applies to a particular situation depends on its facts and on the law in force at the time one acts.
3. Reading this website or writing to us does not create a lawyer–client relationship
Browsing this website, submitting the contact form, writing by email or WhatsApp, or using the assistant does not create a lawyer–client relationship. That relationship arises only when the firm accepts the engagement in writing and the corresponding documents are signed.
For that reason: do not send confidential or sensitive information before that agreement exists. Information sent beforehand is not covered on the same terms by the Colombian professional duty of secrecy (deber de reserva profesional), which is not the same figure as attorney–client privilege.
4. The website assistant
The website includes an assistant that answers with pre-written text. It is not an artificial intelligence system, it does not analyse what the visitor writes and it does not generate new answers: it only explains how the firm handles each subject and directs the visitor to the appropriate channel.
The assistant does not give legal, accounting or tax advice.
5. Deadlines and procedural time limits
Some legal actions are subject to términos preclusivos — Colombian procedural time limits that extinguish the right to act once they expire, a figure with no exact equivalent in common-law practice. Nothing on this website interrupts, suspends or extends any such time limit, and neither does sending a message to the firm. If a time limit is running, write to us stating the date of notification and do not leave the matter in the hands of a web form.
6. Our response undertaking
The website states that the firm replies within 24 hours of an enquiry. That reply is a first communication about whether the matter is one the firm can take on; it is neither a legal opinion (concepto) nor an assessment of the case, and it creates no obligation and no cost.
7. Intellectual property
The texts, the logo, the distinctive signs, the graphics and the design of this website are the property of JRO Florida Enterprises LLC. Their reproduction, distribution or modification is not authorised without prior written permission.
Quoting extracts from the insights is permitted, provided the source is stated and linked to this website.
8. Links to third-party websites
This website may link to pages of public authorities, legal databases or professional profiles on social networks. JRO Corlaw does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content, their availability or their privacy policies.
9. Availability of the website
The firm endeavours to keep this website available and up to date, but does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and may modify, suspend or withdraw it without prior notice.
10. Personal data
The processing of personal data collected through this website is governed by JRO Corlaw’s Personal Data Processing Policy (Política de Tratamiento de Datos Personales).
11. Permitted use
It is not permitted to use this website for unlawful purposes, to attempt to access non-public areas, to extract its content in bulk by automated means, or to impersonate the firm or its professionals.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Colombian law. Any dispute arising from their interpretation or application shall be submitted to the courts of the Republic of Colombia.
13. Amendments
The firm may amend these terms. The version in force is the one published on this website, with the effective date shown at the beginning. Keeping a dated copy of each published version is advisable.
